The Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates, Inc. (SGNA) announces the launch of its Infection Prevention Champions Program and toolkit. This program provides a named Champion with key infection prevention information to take back to his or her GI/endoscopy team.
The goal of the Infection Prevention Champions Program is for each facility/setting across the country to have a team member enroll as a Champion who acts as the link to the most current infection prevention news and best practices. Champion-only resources will be available from SGNA to those with a subscription, helping ensure the most current and safest practices are followed. The toolkit, housed on SGNA's Infection Prevention Web site, will aid the Champion and others who seek to advance their infection prevention knowledge with the most up-to-date information all in one place.
The Infection Prevention Web site also features free resources to those without the Champion subscription, such as a photo gallery, manufacturer guidelines, professional society guidelines, educational resources, tools and employer resources.
The Infection Prevention Champions Program requires an annual subscription of $250 running from June through May, with the Champion serving for a one-year term. The annual subscription includes Champions-only access to SGNA resources including the High-Level Disinfection Wall Chart, High-Level Disinfection DVD, Train the Trainer competency checklist and the Infection Prevention Module of the Associates Program. The program also offers access to the Champions-only discussion forum and a bi-monthly newsletter from SGNA Headquarters.
