Article

Spectra254, a provider of UVC light disinfection solutions, will exhibit its comprehensive portfolio of UVC light disinfection products at the IDWeek conference in San Diego, Oct. 7-11, at the San Diego Convention Center. The event is hosted by the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America, the HIV Medicine Association and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society.

Attendees of IDWeek 2015, who include researchers, clinicians and epidemiologists in healthcare infectious diseases and prevention, will see a variety of products from Spectra254, including the Spectra 1000 Series mobile room sanitizing system, for operating rooms, hospital patient rooms and emergency rooms; the Spectra 500 medical transport sanitizing system, for emergency vehicles; the RDS-30 Series, for diagnostic tools and electronics; and the Spectra 600, designed specifically for the post-acute care services market. Spectra254 will exhibit its solutions at booth number 420.

With the theme of Advancing Science, Improving Care, IDWeek 2015 is a five-day conference and exhibition, featuring the latest science and patient care approaches in prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and epidemiology of infectious diseases. In addition to the exhibits, IDWeek features sessions that present advances in basic, translational, and clinical research in infectious diseases and healthcare epidemiology, providing updates on key topics and issues. More than 6,800 healthcare professionals are expected to attend the 2015 conference and exhibition.

Spectra254’s portable, ultraviolet light-generating systems are ideal for acute and post-acute care facilities, including hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, clinics, laboratories, nurse assisted living centers and other settings where elimination of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) is of critical importance.

“At the heart of IDWeek is efficacy, relevance and giving patients the best care possible,” says Dennis Boyle, executive vice president of global sales for Spectra254. “We will be showcasing disinfection systems that can protect patients throughout a healthcare event, beginning with pre-registration in an office, to an inpatient surgery at a hospital and ending with post-acute outpatient care, all with a 99.98 percent efficacy rating in killing healthcare acquired infections.”

The four Spectra254 systems to be showcased at IDWeek 2015 have been thoroughly tested and evaluated by independent laboratories and found to be 99.98 percent effective in eliminating surface and air pathogens, including MRSA, CRE, C. difficile spores and other bacteria and superbugs. A recent study also proves the Spectra 1000 Series system is 99.9 percent effective in killing airborne and surface pathogens.

Spectra254 UVC light decontamination systems use high-intensity UVC light to eliminate pathogens on surfaces. The company offers a practical approach to UVC disinfection in healthcare and related markets, developing multiple systems that are independently tested, easy to use and offer an expanded set of features, functions and benefits normally reserved for systems at a much higher price.
