Patricia Murphy, PhD, is the head of ICON’s Centre for Rare Diseases, within its Drug Development Solutions group. She helps to drive clinical development in rare conditions, understanding the unique challenges of identifying and evaluating therapeutics in diseases with low prevalence, few or no treatment approaches, and high unmet need. Murphy has been involved in clinical research for more than 30 years as a faculty member in Weill Cornell’s Department of Psychiatry, then leading development programs in the pharmaceutical industry, and now at ICON.
