PHOENIX -- The American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services (ASHES) announces a new event at its 20th anniversary Conference and Technical Exhibition, Sept. 25-29, 2005 in Phoenix. Conference participants are joining ASHES at its "Hearts and Hands Volunteer Event" being held Sunday, Sept. 25, at Homeward Bound, a transitional housing program for homeless and domestic violence families with children. Volunteers for this event are helping the childcare center at Homeward Bound become a cleaner, healthier and brighter place for children to play, learn, and feel safe.
Volunteers will be cleaning and disinfecting children's toys and play areas. Jani-King International, Inc, 3M Commercial Care Division, Racine Industries, Inc, Steri-Safe and West Sanitation, Inc. are a few of the companies that will be contributing manpower and supplies for pre-event floor care and facility cleaning.
"Through hard work and the dedication of our members, ASHES is soaring to new heights. Isn't it time we share that strength by giving back to the communities we serve? I'll be there and I hope you'll join me for this significant event in ASHES history," says ASHES president Tony Fitzgerald, III, CHESP.
ASHES is the premier professional membership society for healthcare environmental services, housekeeping, waste management and textile care professionals. ASHES provides education, recognition for personal and professional achievements, national networking as well as affiliation and collaboration with the American Hospital Association on public policy and advocacy issues related to healthcare environmental services.
