Atlas to Demonstrate Infection Control Solution at APIC

Article

Atlas Public Health announces it will demonstrate ATLAS Guardian Infection Control, a software application, at APICs annual conference June 27-29 in Baltimore. The software is uniquely designed to address the combined objectives of surveillance and control, facility-wide analysis, and regulatory reporting of infectious disease and other HAI incidents occurring within the hospital enterprise.

Guardian is designed to reduce manual entry and facilitate rapid recognition and actionable analysis of infections, as well as statutorily-mandated reporting to NHSN and state public health officials. Guardian is a flexible epidemiological solution comprehensive enough to address the needs of virtually any Infection Control program, enabling Infection Control (IC) units to respond to infections rapidly and effectively. Atlas offers a proven solution for aggregating data from disparate hospital systems and facilitating a hospital-wide dashboard view of all HAI events allowing the ICP to spend more time minimizing HAI events and less time performing data entry. During this years conference, the company will also demonstrate the mobile version of ATLAS Guardian IC that allows the ICP to review isolation patients and access patient records following receipt of email alerts from a tablet device such as the Apple iPad®.

"Having effective systems in place to identify, investigate, and respond to infections is a critical component of any IC program," says Mark Marostica, Atlas Public Health vice president of sales and marketing. "Guardian provides real-time information. By isolating the infection source, hospitals can proactively reduce risks, protect their patients, decrease non-reimbursements, and meet their mandated reporting requirements," continues Marostica. "Moreover, the analytical reports and graphs generated in Guardian provide strong measurement tools to assess the effectiveness of IC protocols and in the long run can prevent future infections."
