Business Pulse Connects CDC and Industry to Address Public Health Issues

Article

Every day, 1 in 20 hospitalized patients has an infection caused by medical care. Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) are costly to businesses and are potentially lethal to employees. In fact, HAIs create an economic burden of as much as $45 billion for citizens and businesses each year, even though 70 percent of some infections are preventable.

Today, the CDC Foundation published its latest Business Pulse: How CDC Protects the Health of Your Business. This issue highlights specific safe healthcare challenges faced by businesses, and a conversation between Healthcare Corporation of Americas chief medical director Dr. Jonathan Perlin and CDC expert Dr. Michael Bell.
