CHICAGO, ILL-This year's International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) meeting will be held in Birmingham, Ala from November 5-8. The keynote speaker will be Dr. M. Joycelyn Elders, a pediatric endocrinologist and the first African-American and the second woman to hold the position of US Surgeon General.
Concurrent Technical and Management Updates will be offered on Sunday, November 5 and an Educational Update will be presented on Wednesday, November 8. Preliminary topics include: rigid container systems, flat and pouch packaging, reusing single-use items, low- and intermediate-level disinfectants, standard precautions and new wave infections, and errors in healthcare productivity.
