Key 2014 Sterigenics’ developments include:
- Acquisition of Nordion Inc., the world’s largest provider of Cobalt-60 used in the gamma sterilization process, creating the only vertically integrated sterilization company in the world;
- Acquisition of Gammarad, Italy’s leading gamma irradiation sterilization company, providing over 4 million cubic feet of processing capability and a second Sterigenics Gamma irradiation site in Western Europe;
- Acquisition of Food Technology Service, Inc., a Gamma irradiation operation in Mulberry, Florida;
- Investing $32 million in growth capital to expand existing facilities across the Americas and Europe.
