Surgery Dynamics, Inc. announces the signing of a three-year national agreement with Premier Purchasing Partners, the group purchasing unit of Premier, Inc. for protective eyewear. The Premier agreement for these eyeshields is available to the surgical staff to the more than 2,400 U.S. hospitals and 70,000 healthcare sites that are members of the Premier healthcare alliance. The agreement (PP-OR-709), which takes effect Jan. 1, 2011, includes Biobans eyeshields.
"We are very excited to have been chosen by Premier for this contract award. This agreement will allow the Premier member hospitals and healthcare facilities to immediately benefit from our superior eyeshield design," says Elaine Rogers, president of Surgery Dynamics. "Our innovative eyewear gives Premier members an efficient and cost-effective way to comply with recommended standards of practice for eye protection and offer the best available option for their healthcare workers."
Surgery Dynamics says Biobans are an ideal source for eye protection because of their unique design. The protective lens has 27 percent more surface area coverage than the other available eyeshield designs. This added protection means additional defense against splashing and spraying by potentially infectious material.
