VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The nominations are in and the Internet public has narrowed the field of the top public restrooms in the nation for America's Best Restrooms II, presented by Cintas. Voting will take place online through February 8, 2003, at http://www.thebestofusa.com/ . At the site visitors will have an opportunity to take a photographic tour of the finalists and vote for their favorite. Winners will be announced in March.
"Research shows that people care about restroom hygiene," says Mike Wallner, marketing manager for Cintas, sponsor of the award program. "We would like to tip our hats to those companies that go the extra mile for their customers and visitors."
Many regions of the country are represented in the list of finalists for America's Best Restroom Award II. Host states include California, Mississippi, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia.
The Best Restroom Internet survey was created in 2001 to honor businesses across the country that maintain exceptional hygiene in their public restrooms. In its first year, the ranking survey attracted thousands of visitors and voters who awarded top honors to the Main Building at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
Each year, Best Restroom Award will present a certificate of recognition to the winner and post the top five to receive votes in the Best Restroom Hall of Fame. Nominations for the Best Restroom Awards are open to any restroom that is free and open to the public. A person does not have to have any professional relationship to the business or facility that cares for the restroom to nominate it, although personal experience is preferred.
