PREZIO Health and Champion Medical Technologies are partnering to better service their customers. Hospital groups using surgical implants and instruments will benefit from the new strategic relationship by sourcing more comprehensive solutions to improve perioperative outcomes through implantable device and tissue tracking.Â
The perioperative field is one of the most complex service segments within health care. The cause of failures in this environment can be numerous. To help reduce chaos, our partner Champion and their UDITracker product is transforming how the medical industry tracks high value inventory, says Dennis Streppa, president and CEO of PREZIO Health. By integrating UDITracker into PREZIOs portfolio of services, we can help our healthcare partners automate data entry, increase product security and meet chain of custody requirements. Were excited to continue bringing more comprehensive solutions to the perioperative arena.
UDITracker uses secure access control and RFID to automatically capture and process each inventory transaction in real time. Aligned with the FDAs recent announcement of the Unique Device Identification (UDI) Rule, Champion and PREZIO are providing automated solutions for hospitals around the country, says Peter Casady, president and CEO of Champion Medical Technology, Inc.
Unlike other tracking solutions that require data entry prior to product access, the RFID enclosures utilize swipe, grab and go technology, which significantly reduces implant retrieval time. Hospital costs decrease with reduced waste and easier reconciliation processes. The system tracks expiration dates as well as provides 24/7 temperature monitoring for sensitive tissue implants, automates recall investigations and increases patient safety.
The PREZIO Health and Champion Medical Technologies partnership will provide quantifiable clinical and operational advances for each customers business.
Optimizing patient care and improving workflow are principal goals of each company, adds Casady. The relationship between Champion and PREZIO Health will create superior solutions for hospitals.
