Article

The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) will offer the two-day Webinar, "Physical aspects of ethylene oxide sterilization, " on Oct. 27 and on Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT.

This webinar series will review the newly revised AAMI TIR15 outlining the significant differences between the current and prior versions. Information provided in the TIR will be reviewed to examine how it can be used to define and improve sterilization processes as well as to ensure compliance to safety standards and the standard for EO sterilization (ANSI/AAMI/ISO 11135-1).

Participants will have an opportunity to hear from and ask questions of one of the current co-chairs of the AAMI EO Sterilization Working Group and the chair of the task group that led the revision of AAMI TIR15. At the conclusion of the program, attendees will gain knowledge that will assist in the operation of ethylene oxide sterilization within their organization.

The speakers are:

- Gerry O'Dell, president and principal of Gerry O'Dell Consulting and co-chair of the AAMI Ethylene Oxide Sterilization Working Group and chair of the AAMI Ethylene Oxide Sterilization Working Group TIR 15 Task Group

- Craig Meadows, senior manager and technical fellow of sterilization services for Medtronic Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management

The cost is $595 per registrant for AAMI members and $775 per registrant for non-members. The registration fee includes both days of the webinar.
