STERIS Corporation and SterilTek, Inc. to Join Forces.

Mentor, OH--STERIS Corporation and SterilTek, Inc. (Scottsdale, AZ) have announced their intention to form an alliance. STERIS provides a variety of infection control systems and products worldwide; and SterilTek consults with healthcare facilities to improve their sterilization techniques. SterilTek offers both onsite and offsite options for instrument reprocessing needs; and the newly announced alliance states SterilTek will use STERIS products exclusively in all its reprocessing centers. Additionally, the agreement allows STERIS to purchase a minority equity interest in SterilTek immediately with the option to increase that interest in the future.

William A. O'Riordan, STERIS Health Care Group President, stated, "We believe this is a terrific opportunity for STERIS Corporation to partner with a young, entrepreneurial company that has demonstrated the ability to take a sound concept and successfully implement it. We are also very pleased to become involved with the principals of SterilTek, a talented group of individuals with significant industry experience and know-how."
